The Latinx Voices Journal
The Latinx Voices Journal
The Latinx Voices Journal, Volume I (Fall 2024) by Saddleback College’s Ethnic Studies Department is a collection of student essays, oral histories, staff profiles, and photographs that celebrate and preserve the stories of the Latinx community. Originating from a post-COVID-19 class project, the journal shares personal narratives of migration, resilience, cultural pride, and the fight against systemic inequalities, highlighting themes like family strength, women’s empowerment, preservation of traditions, and advocacy for justice. It serves as both a cultural archive and a platform for amplifying voices often left unheard.
Latinx Voices Journal Vol. II is packed with interesting content about our community in Orange County, and it includes the Latinx Voices mixtape you can listen to while browsing the journal, reading about local non-profits, oral histories, food recipes, and more!
